Who we are

Anti Yūrei Yōkai Club is a night-tour brand operated by Japanify LLC, Osaka, Japan. These terms cover our walking tours in Kyoto and Osaka and our digital book, The Midnight Compendium. Questions any time: info@antiyureiyokaiclub.com.

Tours

Bookings are made through our booking system or partner platforms (such as Viator, GetYourGuide and Expedia). Prices are per person and include tax. Tours run in English and take place outdoors, at night, on public streets.

• Participants must be between 16 and 65 years old.
• Arrive on time. Guests more than 5 minutes late cannot join the tour and are not refunded — the group cannot wait in the dark.
• Tours are not wheelchair or stroller accessible.
• We may cancel a tour for bad weather or too few travelers. If we cancel, you receive a full refund.
• Guides may refuse or remove a participant who is intoxicated, endangers others, or disrupts the tour, without refund.

Tour cancellations and changes

• Changes and cancellations are free until 2 days before the tour start time.
• Within 2 days of the start time: a 50% fee applies.
• Within 24 hours of the start time — including rescheduling requests, late arrivals and no-shows: 100% fee, no refund.

Bookings made through partner platforms follow the same policy; refunds for those bookings are processed by the platform you booked with.

The book

The Midnight Compendium is a digital product: a PDF plus an online reading edition, delivered by email shortly after purchase. Because it is digital and delivered instantly, all sales are final — that is also why the first story is free to read before you buy.

• Each copy is licensed to the buyer personally and carries the buyer's name and order number.
• Your copy is for your personal use. Sharing, reselling or redistributing it is not permitted.
• The book contains folklore, real locations and documented true crime. Chapter III is recommended for readers 16 and older.

Safety and responsibility

Our tours involve walking at night. Follow your guide's instructions, watch your step, and mind your belongings — you participate at your own risk, and you are responsible for your own possessions. To the extent permitted by Japanese law, our liability for any claim connected to a tour or purchase is limited to the amount you paid us.

About the stories

Our tours and book mix folklore, legend and documented history. We tell you which is which — that is the whole point — but the frightening parts are meant to be frightening. If you are not into ghost stories, please don't join. Ghost sightings are not guaranteed.

Changes and law

We may update these terms from time to time; the date above shows the current version. These terms are governed by the laws of Japan.
