Dark tales, urban legends & the bamboo forest after everyone else has gone home.
By day, Arashiyama's bamboo grove is the most photographed place in Kyoto. By night it is something else entirely — a corridor of black stalks that creak against each other in the dark, and the reason this tour exists.
We start at Saga-Arashiyama Station and walk into the forest as the last light dies. A slow walk through the dark bamboo, past shrines that stay lit for reasons nobody advertises — while your guide tells the legends and the real ghost stories that belong to these exact places.
Yes — by story, atmosphere and one planned surprise. There are no actors or costumes; the forest does most of the work.
It starts and ends at Saga-Arashiyama Station, easy to reach by JR from Kyoto Station in about 15 minutes.
Cancellation is free until 2 days before the tour. Within 2 days: 50% fee. Within 1 day: 100%. If we cancel — bad weather or too few travelers — you get a full refund.
